Insisting on Righteousness

But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.
 (Matthew 3: 15, NKJV)

We are in a time when the craze for ambition and the hunger to fulfill purpose at all cost is at its peak and the drive to live out our vision for life is a motivation even in the face of compromise on righteousness. We focused on the goal but ignored the needful that comes before it manifestation.

It is not uncommon to find men and women who have decided on a path to follow for the rest of their lives but it is strange in our time to find a man who insist on the prerequisite of righteousness as he goes about fulfilling the mandate of God upon his life. We have undermined the earthly authorities God has placed ahead of us simply because they don’t fit our specification and expectation, (See Matthew 3:4). We have substituted the requirement for righteousness with the subsidy of sin and human wisdom.

We struggle with the demand of God upon our lives and we failed the litmus test that would have otherwise open and sustain the heavens over our lives and destiny, (See 1 Samuel 15:23).

No matter the excuse, we must insist on applying the principles and rules guiding our relationship with God and man irrespective of our standing and status in life. We must be humble before Men and submissive to the will of the Father in heaven. We must promote righteousness no matter the urge to do otherwise.

We are to pursue and insist on the substance of righteousness no matter the temptation and I see the heavens over our lives open with an express endorsement from the throne of mercy. (See Matthew 3:17)

“No matter the excuse, we must insist on applying the principles and rules guiding our relationship with God and man irrespective of our standing and status in life.”
